 Common Name:  Coonstripe Shrimp

 

 Genus and Species:   Pandalus gurneyi

 

 Phylum:  Arthropods

 

 Class:   Shrimp

 

 Identification:   This shrimp is largely transparent with dark red spots all along the carapace.  The tail portion has alternating bands of transparency, white bands, and red bands.  In addition yellow spots are also present at the joints of the leg.  The horn at the front of the head is usually red.
