 Common Name:  Taylor's Colonial Tunicate

 

 Genus and Species:   Metandrocarpa taylori

 

 Phylum:  Chordata

 

 Class:   Ascidiacea

 

 Identification:   These colonial tunicates may be found individually or in large clusters.  These tunicates are usually bright orange to reddish orange in color.  Often time the top of the inlet and outlets of the tunicate apear much darker than the rest of the tunicate.

 

 

ENCRUSTING TUNICATES

 

 Common Name:  White Colonial Tunicate

 

 Genus and Species:   Aplidium sp.

 

 Phylum:  Chordata

 

 Class:   Ascidiacea

 

 Identification:   The White Colonial Tunicate is ivory white in color with many small white pores all along the body.  In random locations, several mantles will elevates above the rest of the colony where a much larger hole can be seen.  This tunicate
